Judicial Efficiency
  • Improve speed and consistency of case processing and management
  • Provide training and technical assistance to judicial authorities and staff to address skill and knowledge gaps
  • Support the implementation of the Law on Enforcement to improve the consistency and timeliness of enforcement
Judicial Accountability
  • Support court presidents through peer learning and management training
  • Strengthen self-regulatory bodies to improve their ability to hold members accountable to professional ethics and standards
  • Increase the public’s access to information about the Serbian judiciary through an assessment of current needs and resources and by informing the population of new legislation
Application of the Law
  • Increase judicial input into the policy development process through regularizing consultations between the judiciary and the government and developing the judiciary’s analytical capacity
  • Improve the integration of new legal provisions and ensure that judges and staff understand new legal provisions
  • Provide training for judges and staff on new legislation, as well as networking opportunities and peer learning to facilitate a conversation about best strategies for implementing new legal provisions
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • University degree in a relevant field, such as Public Administration, Municipal Governance/Planning, Law, Public Policy, or related fields; Master’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience working on projects for USAID or other international donors
  • Experience working on rule of law or judicial reform in Serbia
  • Experience designing, managing, and implementing judicial reform projects in Serbia and/or the Balkans
  • Fluency in written and spoken Serbian and English required
